Title: Captivity In the depths of my soul, a prisoner I remain Chained by the weights of oppression's heavy reign The shackles of fear, the manacles of pain Bind me to the past, where freedom's light cannot reign Memories of a life, once lived with liberty Haunt me like a ghost, a fleeting melody Echoes of laughter, whispers of glee Remind me of the life, I once knew, wild and free But now, I'm trapped, in this cage of despair A captive of circumstance, with no escape to share The chains of oppression, they wrap around my heart Suffocating my dreams, tearing my soul apart The world outside, a blur, a haze, a distant hum A reminder of the life, I've yet to become The chains that bind me, they rattle and they sway As I struggle to break free, night and day But still, I hold on, to the hope in my heart A spark that flickers, a flame that never departs A beacon of light, that guides me through the dark A reminder that freedom, is a state of mind, a work of art So I'll rise up, I'll resist, I'll revolt I'll shatter the chains, that have held me captive, so long I'll walk in the light, of my newfound freedom And I'll never look back, at the captivity, that once was my home For I am a warrior, a fighter, a soul on fire I am a phoenix rising, from the ashes of my desire I am a voice, that will not be silenced, a heart that will not be tamed I am a spirit, that will rise above, the chains of oppression, that once held me captive, in shame.
