Moyo was sentenced to one month in prison but was lucky to escape jail after the magistrate Joshua Nembaware ordered him to pay $100 fine. Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa told the court that on February 9 the police received a tip-off that Moyo was selling fuel without a license.
