The Temporary STI GeneXpert Evaluation Nurses will primarily be responsible for implementing STI study activities in Lesotho. The Temporary STI GeneXpert Evaluation Nurses will collect data from different entry points as per protocol guidance. S/he will implement the study related activities with the support from district coordinator and Elizabeth Glazer Pediatrics Aids Foundation (EGPAF) staff in programs as appropriate. The evaluation is meant to understand the potential impact/contribution and cost of GeneXpert molecular testing in diagnosis and treatment of STIs among adolescent and young women (15 โ 29 years) and men (15 years and older) presenting with STI symptoms at selected health facilities in Lesotho (Leribe and Berea).
Under the supervision of the Study Coordinator, the Temporary STI GeneXpert Evaluation Nurse will participate in STI GeneXepert Evaluation data collection activities at the facility level (i.e evaluation site) under two (2) EGPAF ALPEC Districts. S/he will serve as administrative liaison between study sites and the project. The nurse will obtain informed consent and interview participants who present with signs and symptoms of STIs. S/He will adhere to pre-established work scope, study protocol, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ethics regulatory requirements.

โข Work in a professional manner and maintain good relationships with hospital staff and EGPAF Programs Staff.
โข Screen clients for enrolment into the study
โข Conduct informed consent process to prospective participants before enrolment into the study.
โข Conduct interviews using appropriate study data collection forms and logs to fill in information collected from participants.
โข Provide guidance to consented participants on collection samples and ensure processing of the samples.
โข Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of data collection activities
โข Provide updates to the Coordinator on enrolment progress of study participants.
โข Ensure accurate and complete recording of study data.
โข Ensure confidentiality of participantsโ information by storing all evaluation documents in locked filling cabinets.
โข Provide regular and timely updates to the study coordinator on progress and issues that impact implementation
โข Maintain accurate files and records, both computerized and manual
โข Perform other duties as required by the Public Health Evaluation Director, Associate Director PHE and Senior Research Manager.

โข Diploma or Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery
โข Registration with the Lesotho Nursing Council as a Trained Nurse Assistant
โข Previous experience with data collection for research is desired
