WOULD RATHER vs. PREFER 🇬🇧
WOULD RATHER:
• Used to talk about a choice or preference in a specific situation.
• Followed by the base verb (without “to”).
• Example: I would rather stay home than go out tonight.
PREFER:
• Used to talk about general preferences.
• Followed by a noun or to + verb.
• Example: I prefer coffee to tea. / I prefer to stay home.
💡 Key Difference:
- Use “would rather” for specific choices.
- Use “prefer” for general likes or dislikes.
