US$93 MILLION SET ASIDE TO BUY LOYALTY FROM INFLUENTIAL FIGURES IN ZIMBABWE SOCIETY* As Zimbabweans grapple with economic hardships, skyrocketing inflation, and a deteriorating healthcare system, Zanu PF is once again prioritising its grip on power over the welfare of the people. The ruling party’s latest scheme — a blatant push to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term beyond the constitutional limit — exposes its disregard for democracy and the will of the people. Zimbabwe’s Constitution is clear: a president can serve a maximum of two terms. Mnangagwa’s second and final term is set to end in 2028, yet Zanu PF is maneuvering to rewrite the rules to keep him in power. This follows the party’s well-documented history of amending laws to benefit the ruling elite while ignoring the country’s pressing crises. What makes this move even more alarming is how it’s being facilitated — not through democratic consultation but through a calculated campaign of patronage. Instead of focusing on governance, Zanu PF is splashing millions to buy loyalty, especially among influential figures in society. The rogue regime has put aside US$93 million for a clampdown campaign targeting all Chamisa sympathisers across Zimbabwe. Reports are emerging of prominent social, political, and business figures receiving large sums of money and gifts from Zanu PF in a bid to secure their support for Mnangagwa’s extended rule. This is not governance; it is bribery disguised as politics said Genius Mamwadhu of the Chamisa faction. The tactic is clear: silence potential opposition, manufacture consent, and create an illusion of popular support. Instead of investing in essential services like healthcare, education, and infrastructure, Zanu PF’s priority is to enrich those who can help extend Mnangagwa’s rule. All the forces against the 2030 move are now targeted for persecution. It is rumoured Mnangagwa’s henchmen will invoke the Patriotic Act on people in the diaspora the likes of Mellisa Mbavarira, Chipo Komboni, Tendai Christian Mapfumo, Mashama Petronella Mazise, Tatenda Alexias Chifamba, Memory Kishindo, Rudo Yvonne Dodzo, Brian Chikukwa, Petty Ziramba and Donovan Tendekai Dube. Other are Greatman Makipa, Sibongile Kadzima, Boniface Munyaradzi Zengeni, Shepherd Yuda, Pamela Magwizi, Nastancia Darabani and Nobubhukosi Ncube, who have started a movement called “NO to 2030.” The above-mentioned group is planning petitions and advocating for isolation of Zimbabwe in international trade and borrowing. They point out that how can a government splash billions of pounds in vote buying. Zimbabwe’s history is littered with examples of how power-hungry leaders have manipulated the system to remain in control. This latest attempt is no different. It not only undermines democracy but also signals that Zimbabwe’s leadership is more concerned with its survival than with addressing the people’s struggles. For a country already suffering from high unemployment, failing public services, and widespread corruption, shops are closing and business moving out of the country. This move only deepens the crisis. Every dollar spent on securing Mnangagwa’s third term is a dollar stolen from essential public services. The Zimbabwean people have seen this playbook before, but history has also shown that no dictatorship lasts forever. The power of the people is greater than those in power — when they rise, no amount of money can suppress their will. Zanu PF’s attempts to entrench Mnangagwa beyond his constitutional limit must be resisted. Zimbabweans must reject the culture of patronage and demand leaders who serve the people, not themselves. In the words of Victor Muchavhaira, a member of the opposition Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) security department, “The Constitution exists to protect democracy, and no amount of money should be allowed to buy its destruction.” Muchavaira’s opinion resonates with that of Sikhatalele Dladla, a Zimbabwean diasporan resident in Ireland who says, “The future of Zimbabwe belongs to its people, not to those who seek to hold it hostage for personal gain.” *_-NewZimbabwe_* 2. *RBZ ORDERS FAIRER PRICING FOR INTERNET DATA PACKAGES* The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has stepped in to address concerns over discriminatory pricing by mobile network operators and internet service providers. Zimbabwean wildlife safaris In the 2025 Monetary Policy Statement, RBZ Governor John Mushayavanhu said that operators are accused of favouring USD transactions over Zimbabwean dollars (ZiG). For instance, they offer internet data promotions only in USD, not ZiG. Said Mushayavanhu: _The Reserve Bank has received complaints from stakeholders during the consultative meetings alleging that some mobile money operators are applying discriminatory pricing practices against ZiG in preference for USD transactions._ _For instance, promotions for internet data packages are only available in US dollars and not in ZiG._ _The Reserve Bank has since engaged the regulatory authority, the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), and the Telecommunications Operators Association of Zimbabwe (TOAZ)._ _The Reserve Bank, through the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), will continue to monitor adherence to this requirement by TOAZ members._ The central bank governor added that industry players have agreed to adjust their pricing structures, allowing customers to purchase internet data packages using their preferred currency. *_-Pindula_* 3. *JOB SIKHALA DETAILS HIS ARREST AND RELEASE IN PENHALONGA* National Democratic Working Group chairman Job Sikhala, a well-known political and civil society activist, has spoken out about his arrest on Saturday in Penhalonga, Manicaland, alongside 40 fellow activists. According to Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR), Sikhala and his group were charged under Section 7(1)(b) of the Maintenance of Public Order Act, which pertains to holding a public gathering without notifying the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP). Zimbabwean wildlife safaris In a statement posted on X early Sunday morning, Sikhala revealed that he was released that same night along with 39 others, but their chief national organiser, Joelson Mugari, remained in custody. *Wrote Sikhala:* I have been released with 39 other leaders from different constituent groups who constitute the National Democratic Working Group(NDWG) national leadership.NDWG is a social justice movement whose objective is to engage citizens in a consultative process about their country. It is not a political party. The 8th of February 2025 was a calendar date for its leadership meetings that happens after every 3 months. The meeting was purely an executive meeting to deliberate on the progress made on the consultative process that is happening throughout the country. The meeting was at the Beat of the Forest Resort in Penhalonga. Initially, a Toyota Hilux double cab with dark windows arrived with 5 members of the CIO led by Muvhangeri, whose home area is Buhera. They arrived & parked at the premises & engaged with the NDWG Chief National Organiser Democrat Engineer Joelson Mugari. After some around 5 minutes they left. A few minutes later, another vehicle a Toyota Hilux without number plates arrived with members of the Police Intelligence (PI) formerly PISI & members of the CID Law & Order led by Ngweme. They were dropped & left, & again, Engineer Joelson Mugari engaged them to seek their mission. While he was engaging them, 3 truckloads of riot Police & AK47 wielding police officers descended on the venue led by a plain clothed officer called Shonhiwa. Shonhiwa stormed into the venue & screamed, “Beat & catch everyone here. Rush & close that other exit entrance.” The AK47 wielding & baton stick holding police officers started assaulting some members and kickedthem around. I remained calm seated on the couch next to Dr Wurayayi Zembe. Then, the other AK47 wielding police officer pointed his gun at Dr. Zembe screaming, “I am going to shoot you.” Dr Zembe remained calm and watched the drama. This happened right next to me. After some minute or so, Engineer Joelson Mugari called me to tell me that the Officer Commanding wants to talk to me. I went at the eastern entrance where he was standing at the door. I stretched my hand to greet him so as to hear his story. He arrogantly tucked his hands into his pockets and said, “Don’t greet me. Ndakarombaka ini. Ko mhepo dzangu dzikazokubata?” He then talked to Dr. Zembe and Dr. Zembe told him that he knows his village in Gutu and where he comes from. He then belowed to me, “I have invited you to tell you the charge you and these people are facing. We are charging you for contravening Section 7 of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act (MOPA) for having this gathering without police authority. I felt a laugh in myself on how 41 people could have been said to have contravened that section when it does not say so. Secondly, MOPA does not sanction the notification of executive meetings. It’s like Zanu PF seeking police clearance to hold its Politbro meetings. The law only talks of holding public meetings, processions or demonstrations on public places. The meeting we held was in a bush at Beats of Forest and wondered how it turns to be a public place. Secondly, they are mistaking the National Democratic Working Group (NDWG), to be a political party which it is not. We were then commandeered to get into waiting pick up trucks under heavy and torrential rains. Mutare was heavily raining today. Rains pounded on us from Beats of Forest to Penhalonga Police station around 12 noon. We all got wet that we looked like ramshackles when we finally arrived at Penhalonga Police Station which was a distance. All our phones were switched off and we were asked to sit down on some dirty floor. Recording of each individual’s details took about 3 hours. We were suddenly told that we are no longer handling your case and you must be taken to Mutare Central CID Law and Order. At the CID Law and Order we were not asked to plead to any charge but they took Engineer Joelson Mugari, Dr. Wurayayi Zembe, Nyabeze and myself for interviews. To be continued... *_-Pindula_* 4. *SHARP RISE IN DIVORCE CASES IN ZIMBABWE* Zimbabwe witnessed a stark surge in divorce cases in 2024, with 3 214 cases recorded across the country compared to 2 149 in 2023. Of these, only 1 562 divorce cases have been finalised, underlining the growing strain on families and the judicial system. The capital, Harare, leads both in filings and finalisations. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) recorded 1 945 divorce cases in Harare, of which 996 have been completed. Bulawayo follows with 825 filed cases and 383 finalised divorce suits. Other regions recorded significantly lower figures with Masvingo High Court having 179 cases filed and 70 finalised, while Mutare High Court handled 157 cases which were filed and 78 completed. The High Court in Chinhoyi had 108 filed and 35 finalised. Counsellors and social commentators are calling for urgent measures to address the rising divorce rates, pointing to infidelity, social media misuse, poor communication, lingering grudges, and gender-based violence (GBV) as key drivers. The president of the Council of Churches in Africa, Bishop Rocky Moyo said the statistics represent far more than numbers. “These figures embody the heart-wrenching stories of families torn apart. Whether due to modern life pressures, financial strains, or communication breakdowns, the causes of these divorces are complex and multifaceted,” he observed. Dr Moyo outlined several contributing factors, noting that many divorces stem from infidelity, financial difficulties, lack of intimacy, and unresolved disputes. He warned that a divorce can leave lasting emotional scars, feelings of unhappiness, anger, and long-term personal turmoil. “Praying and connecting spiritually from day one can lessen cases of divorce. When couples are united in Christ, they understand each other better. Marriage is hard work and requires effort from both sides,” said Dr Moyo. He also stressed the importance of community support and open dialogue. “As we reflect on this alarming trend, deeper discussions around mental health, relationship education, and support systems for couples are essential,” said Dr Moyo. He said behind each statistic lies a story, a family and a community feeling the ripple effects of these changes. “As Zimbabweans grapple with this reality, it’s essential to foster environments where love, understanding, and communication can thrive, ultimately leading to healthier relationships and, hopefully, happier families,” said Dr Moyo. Zimbabwe Women Lawyers Association (ZWLA) regional director, Ms Sethulo Ncube, highlighted that gender-based violence remains a significant factor. “In our work handling women’s affairs, we see that most divorces are linked to GBV, infidelity, or financial concerns. While some disagreements can be resolved, often the outcome is divorce, a situation that adversely affects children who end up caught between parents,” she explained. Ms Ncube also noted the social stigma attached to divorce, as those who separate are frequently branded failures and find themselves isolated within their communities. Adding a legal perspective, Bulawayo lawyer Mr Tinashe Runganga urged potential spouses to invest time in truly understanding one another before marriage. “People often rush into marriage without fully knowing the person they intend to share their lives with. It’s advisable to date first and build a strong foundation. Unfortunately, many are marrying for the wrong reasons, including arranged or forced unions,” he said. Mr Runganga pointed out that financial hardships frequently lead to disputes at home, while modern technology via dating sites, social media, and even simple smartphone access can exacerbate suspicions and fuel instances of infidelity and GBV. “There are dating sites, porn sites, and social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. This is where trouble is brewing and you find couples are secretive with their phones and this often leads to suspicions and the result is GBV,” he said. In 2016, a High Court judge Justice Tawanda Chitapi ruled that it is illegal for spouses to pry into each other’s cellphones without permission. He said evidence obtained through prying into a cellphone should not stand in court as it would have been obtained illegally. Justice Chitapi made the landmark ruling as he sentenced Fortunate Nsoro of Chitungwiza for knifing her husband to death while their eight-year-old daughter watched, for refusing to show her a “suspicious” text message that he had received on his cellphone. Bulawayo Residents Association (BURA) chairperson, Mr Winos Dube, linked the rising divorce rates to long distance relationships. “With many people leaving the country, long distance relationships become unsustainable. Trust issues and a lack of seriousness among partners, often compounded by infidelity, contribute significantly to these dissolutions,” he said. Mr Dube urged married couples to seek counselling and maintain open, honest communication to help weather life’s challenges. *_-Herald_* 5. *GOVERNMENT CLUTCHING AT STRAWS AS IT TRIES TO BUY WAR VETS SUPPORT IN MNANGAGWA 2030 AGENDA* Government last week promised heaven on earth to former freedom fighters. At a Press conference last week, government announced that war veterans will receive urban land, US$150 000 per province and boreholes. Father Christmas was in Bulawayo on Saturday where presidential adviser Paul Tungwarara said the plight of war veterans was going to witness marked improvement from a US$1,5 million revolving fund where the former freedom fighters would borrow and only repay the principal as the facility was interest free. At face value, government’s gesture is meant to address the welfare of the former liberation fighters, a majority of whom are wallowing in abject poverty like the rest of the population. In reality, this is a stopgap measure to pacify the restive constituency after war veteran and Zanu PF central committee member Blessed Runesu Geza recently lambasted the Executive for flaunting extravagant lifestyles while former freedom fighters are battling to make ends meet. Geza blasted the President Emmerson Mnangagwa administration for failing to rein in corruption, tribalism and the ill-advised push to extend the presidential term by two years to 2030. This is what rattled government if the latest overture is anything to go by. What the war veterans want are not trinkets but an equitable share of the national cake which appears to have been monopolised by a select few. They fought for a Zimbabwe where opportunities are abound for all to grab regardless of one’s tribe, race or political affiliation. They did not fight for a Zimbabwe where doors to opportunities are open to praise singers, those that gyrate at rallies or tribal kith and kin. The war veterans' angst comes as more than half of the population is stewing in poverty, struggling to put food on the table. They don’t want an environment where political praise-singers fatten their wallets at the expense of the majority that is battling to make ends meet. A tough economic environment characterised by rising prices and declining disposable incomes is buffeting citizens despite claims by fiscal and monetary authorities that they have put in place solid plans for economic growth. The war veterans abhor a scenario in which mbingas, street lingo for super-rich individuals, defy the tough economic environment by inflating government contracts. They then throw money like confetti at a wedding at a time when the tough economic environment has decimated the pockets of many. Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga last month took a dig at the mbingas and the gold mafia saying they have “grown tummies from unexplained wealth”. “Zimbabwe belongs to all of us. We must share its God-given resources equally, ensuring that no one, including the vulnerable, the widowed, or the orphaned, is marginalised or pushed aside in a ruthless pursuit of undeserved privileges. Corruption must end,” Chiwenga said at the Heroes Acre during burial of national hero Justin Mupamhanga. The latest offer by government to war veterans is a last ditch attempt to “bribe” the constituency which has consistently flagged the plunder of the country’s resources by the elite. They will take the money but will not allow tokenism to sway them. *_-Newsday_* 6. *ECONET REFUTES HACK CLAIMS AND DATA BREACH* Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has firmly denied claims that it had been hacked and that customer records containing sensitive information, such as full names, addresses, Twitter handles, and mobile numbers, were stolen and subsequently sold. Zimbabwean wildlife safaris The allegations were made by cybersecurity watchdog FalconFeeds.io, which reported that over 852,000 customer records had been leaked. The group posted on X: _Data Breach Alert: Econet Wireless Zimbabwe_ _A threat actor claims to be selling the database of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe (http://econet.co.zw). The leaked data includes 852,791 customer records containing full names, emails, addresses, Twitter , mobile numbers and more._ According to TechZim, the alleged threat actor, identified as Thaihub, is said to have listed the stolen database for sale with a small charge of $299. In recent days, several Econet subscribers reported being contacted by suspicious people on WhatsApp, leading them to suspect that their contact details might have been sourced from Thaihub’s purported leak. However, in a statement to TechZim, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe reassured customers that it had thoroughly investigated the claims and found no evidence of a breach. The statement reads: _Econet statement on alleged customer data breach_ _Econet Wireless Zimbabwe is aware of a social media post first made on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday (February 4, 2025) claiming that a threat actor was selling part of the Econet’s subscriber list containing 852 791 customer records._ _Our internal investigations, which started immediately on the day the allegations were made, have detected no breach on our systems that would lead to unauthorised access to sensitive customer data, that is not already in the public domain or accessible through third parties._ _However, because we take claims of any breach of our systems very seriously, the moment the allegations were first reported, we activated our incident management processes, working alongside international cybersecurity experts, and have been monitoring our systems 24/7 to ensure heightened security of our business systems and the privacy of our customers’ sensitive data._ _We have also kept our regulators and relevant authorities informed._ *_-Pindula_* 7. *ELON MUSK CALLS FOR SANCTIONS AGAINST JULIUS MALEMA* South African-born American billionaire Elon Musk has called for sanctions to be imposed on Julius Malema, labelling him an “international criminal” due to remarks he made at a recent rally. Malema, the leader of the South African opposition party Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), stirred controversy by declaring that the party would “cut the throat of whiteness.” The comments, captured in a video shared on X by Mario Nawfal, have raised significant alarm, although the exact time and place of Malema’s statements remain unclear. In the video, Malema said: _These people, when you want to hit them hard, go after a white man. They feel terrible pain because you have touched a white man. We’re cutting the throat of whiteness._ Nawfal claimed that Malema stated they “will kill white women, children, and their pets,” although these specific words were never spoken in the video. In response to the clip, Musk remarked, “Immediate sanctions for Malema and declaration of him as an international criminal!” Musk also accused Malema of openly calling for genocide against white people. In response, Malema labelled Musk a typical “spoiled brat” and a direct beneficiary of apartheid privileges, vowing to continue his fight for equality between black and white people. Said Malema: _I really think you have entirely lost your left brain: a typical spoiled brat and direct beneficiary of Apartheid whiteness._ _I know black people look the same to you, typical racist. Look closer, and you will realise those are two different people. America is exposing us to its stupidity._ _I don’t care about your sanctions; I will never stop fighting for black people to be equal to white people, and if that makes me an international criminal, I am proud to be one._ *_-Pindula_* 8. *RELIEVE GOVERNMENT OF MBINGAS – OPPOSITION LEADER VALERIO SAYS AS LOOTING CONTINUES TO ESCALATE* United Zimbabwe Alliance (Uza) opposition party leader Elizabeth Valerio said Zimbabweans should show Zanu PF the exit door in 2028 for trying to desecrate the Constitution by extending the presidential term, lack of good governance and primitive accumulation of wealth by its leaders. Speaking at Chikonohono Hall in Chinhoyi during a community engagement meeting on Saturday, Valerio said people should not fall for the Zanu PF sideshow of factional fights. She said the sideshow would benefit the ruling elite like what happened in 2017 when Zimbabwe’s long-time ruler the late President Robert Mugabe was removed in a coup. “The sad story about Zimbabwe is that we have the framework for a successful country but we have elected leaders who do not implement policies. “Individuals who are running this country have demonstrated that they do not care about ordinary citizens unless they are willing to change that and stop self-enrichment nothing will improve. “They should stop this flamboyant lifestyle of parading our resources and unless they stop that nothing will change. We do not need this mbinga (super-rich person) lifestyle, we need a future where government is answerable to the children of Zimbabwe.” Valerio said her party would fight any bid by Zanu PF to extend term limits. “That is our constitutional right to choose a president. We are asking those in Zanu PF to keep their factional fights between themselves. “Do not involve the nation and do not disrespect our Constitution, it is the right of the citizens to choose their leader,” she said. Valerio said Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion minister Mthuli Ncube was on a destructive path with his tax regime. “I am also into business and I feel for our businesses. The licences, taxes and levies have suffocated every business in the country. Most businesses have no option but to close making the situation worse,” she said. Uza’s theme for community engagement meetings is, Path to National Prosperity. The political party will visit the country's 10 provinces. *_-Newsday_* 9. *ONE-STOP CENTRE FOR LAND TITLE DEEDS PROCESSING* A one-stop centre has been established by the Government to streamline the issuance of title deeds for landholders. This initiative includes mortgage arrangements for those unable to pay the full purchase price. It is part of efforts to enhance land tenure security and productivity in the country. The Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development is collaborating with the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs to spearhead this initiative. The goal of the one-stop centre is to expedite the processing and issuance of title deeds. In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Agriculture said title deeds would be issued to holders of valid offer letters, A2 permits, 99-year leases, A1 settlements, and Agricultural Land Settlement Act (ALSA) leases. For farmers making cash payments, surveyed farms will be processed within three days, added the Ministry in a statement. Farmers who choose to pay within 90 days will have their title deeds processed upon payment of a deposit. The Government is working with financial institutions to assist farmers needing mortgage arrangements. Further details about these facilities will be announced once finalised. Farmers will begin the process by completing a data collection form with assistance from a valuation and estate officer. They must submit certified copies of their ID and relevant tenure documents, along with a US$10 processing fee. A surveyor will then confirm the status of the land and upload diagrams. Verification will ensure there are no disputes. A valuation officer will determine the purchase price and seek approval. Upon full payment, the conveyancer will enter the farmer’s information into the system, and finally, the deeds official will examine the title deed and register it, issuing a clearance certificate upon successful payment. The issuance of title deeds marks a significant milestone in land ownership. It reinforces the Government’s Land Reform Programme, which was initiated in 2000. This system aims to ensure the bankability and transferability of titles, aligning with the country’s Vision 2030 goals. President Mnangagwa previously launched this programme at Pricabe Farm in Kwekwe on December 20. This represents a historic step towards enhanced land tenure security in Zimbabwe. *_-Herald_* 10. *RETAIL CLOSURES LEAVE AFDIS IN A LURCH* Wines and spirits beverage maker, African Distillers Limited (Afdis), is preparing for a sober outlook amid revelations retail business closures would affect its operations. In its half-year financial report ended September 30, 2024, Afdis reported that the current limited access to foreign currency and erratic power supply would continue to present challenges for the business. The business was hopeful that the measures implemented by authorities to stabilise the local currency would create a more conducive trading environment. Fast-forward to 2025, however, and the limited foreign currency in the country, erratic power supply and, mostly, exchange rate volatility have pushed some retailers to branches or leave their shelves empty as suppliers demand forex. During a tour of the company’s facilities by NewsDay Business last Friday, Afdis managing director Stanley Muchenje described the impact of the business closures to the paper. “Of course, the closure of companies and retailers have an impact on every business somehow. So, when you look at that retail space, they offer us what we call the ‘theatre of retail,’ where we can display our products to new consumers; you can come through; you enjoy the shopping experience; that ambience,” he said. “So, they are critical, but at the same time, we can help improve and preserve just how you trade under certain conditions. And to the earlier point that you made, when they struggle, because a chunk of us need access to markets, they are going at times even with some numbers on our books.” Zimbabwe has recently seen a wave of business exits and closures, as the exchange rate volatility and the central bank-induced liquidity squeeze to sustain the domestic currency are making it hard for these entities to restock or continue operating. The tough economic environment has also affected disposable incomes, affecting the bottom line for retailers and thus suppliers. Notable retailers facing pressures include Choppies, N Richards, Spar and OK Zimbabwe. OK Zimbabwe, in particular, has recorded empty shelves as it struggles to restock as most suppliers want to be paid in foreign currency. “The increasing dollarisation of supply chains, with suppliers demanding up to 85% of payments in US$, has placed significant strain on retailers operating in a dual-currency economy. Many businesses hold large stocks of Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), which cannot be easily converted into foreign currency for restocking purposes,” Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers (CZR) revealed in a Mutare post-budget review last week. “This imbalance threatens the viability of formal retailers and wholesalers. CZR urges government to introduce policies that stabilise the ZiG long term, incentivise its use and enforce dual-currency regulations in the supply chain. Addressing this issue is critical to maintaining supply chain stability and ensuring businesses remain operational.” In its half-year report, Afdis said management continued to focus on exploring opportunities for market share growth, revenue, and profitability anchored on product innovation and enhancement, production efficiencies and overhead containment. Muchenje is committed to strategies aimed at protecting its market share, boosting sales, and ensuring profitable growth. *_-Newsday_* 11. *AKA MURDER ‘MASTERMIND’ UNMASKED… CASE TRANSFERRED TO DURBAN HIGH COURT* South African police have pinpointed alleged hitman Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni, 36 as the mastermind behind the murder of rap heavyweight Kiernan AKA Forbes, as they believe he is the one who coordinated the hit that took the music star’s life two years ago.Best headphones deals AKA and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were shot dead outside Wish restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on February 10 2023. AKA was shot in the head from behind, execution style, and died instantly. The five men linked to the murder of the rapper and his celebrity chef friend Motsoane were served with high court indictments on Friday. Harvey Gwabeni Lindokuhle Ndimande, 29, Siyanda Eddie Myeza, 21, Lindani Zenzele Ndiamande, 35, and 30-year-old Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi were served with an indictment containing the charges they face. According to the indictments, Gwabeni masterminded the hit, giving precise instructions to his co-accused before the rapper was shot. According to the state, Gwabeni had been lying in wait at the airport waiting for Forbes to arrive. He then tailed him all the way to Durban’s posh suburb of uMhlanga. The cellphone records also point to Gwabeni having incessantly made a call to the other accused purportedly updating them about Forbes’ movements. The state’s case hinges on the key evidence collected by SAPS investigators. These include ballistics tests, CCTV footage taken at the King Shaka International Airport and the pay toll about 3km away from the airport. They include among others, Hilton hotel footage where AKA and his entourage had booked in. “During January to February 2023 and at or near Durban within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court and other places presently unknown to the state, the accused did unlawfully and intentionally conspire amongst each other to procure the commission to commit the offence of murder to unlawfully and intentionally kill Kiernan Jarryd Forbes,” reads the indictment in part. *_-Nehanda Radio* 12. *NYATHI FAMILY SAY THEY MAKE US$25,000 A MONTH FROM SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT* The pair of Gilbert Nyamanhindi and Joyce Manyara, affectionately known as the Nyathi Family, have turned a new leaf in their rags to riches love story, after revealing they now make US$25 000 a month from their social media content.
