Talha bin ‘Ubayd-Allah al-Baghdadi (rahimahullah) said: I embarked a boat with (Imam) Ahmad ibn Hanbal (rahimahullah) and he would remain silent for a long time. If he spoke we would (find him) say (a du’a): “O Allah cause us to die upon Islam and the Sunnah.’” [Tabaqaat al-Hanabilah, 1/179]
