Ways lawmakers could spend the funds: funding public schools and school vouchers, lowering property taxes and paying for water infrastructure updates. 🗳️ Democrats helped elect an establishment Republican House speaker, but state Rep. Dustin Burrows of Lubbock is still conservative. He is also believed to be the first Texas House speaker since 1887 to have a beard.
