Engineer Kwanele Acting Director for Water and Sanitation addressed a public consultation meeting at City Hall regarding the Glass-Block Bopoma Dam project. The Glass-Block Bopoma Dam, also known as Bopoma Dam, is a proposed reservoir on the Umzingwane River with a capacity of 14 million cubic meters . The project aims to add 70% more capacity to Bulawayo's water reserves, addressing the city's water supply challenges. The construction of the dam is expected to take 30 months to complete and will include a 41km pipeline connecting to the Lower Ncema Dam . Private investors have proposed to construct the dam as an alternative water source for Bulawayo.
