Crispy Fried Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour (divided)
2 tablespoons garlic
1 tablespoon paprika
3 teaspoons pepper (divided)
2 ½ teaspoons poultry seasoning
2 large eggs
1 ½ cups water
1 teaspoon salt
2 chickens (broiler/3-1/2 to 4 pounds each, cut up)
Oil (for deep-fat frying)
Instructions:
Prepare the coating: In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, garlic salt, paprika, 2 teaspoons of pepper, and poultry seasoning.
Mix the batter: In another bowl, whisk the eggs and water together. In a third bowl, combine the remaining 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of pepper, and salt.
Coat the chicken: Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the second flour mixture. Make sure each piece is well-coated.
Heat the oil: In a deep-fat fryer or large skillet, heat the oil to 375°F (190°C).
Fry the chicken: Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 7-8 minutes per side. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Drain and serve: Remove the chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot and enjoy!
