As-SalāmuʿAlaykum,
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brother Mustafa (Maddan) Hashmi, a longtime community member on Friday, February 7, 2025.
He left behind his wife Afshan Hashmi, brother Mahboob Hashmi, brother-in-law Shahid Jameel, nephews, and nieces.
May Allah SWT forgive his shortcomings, expand his grave, make it a comfort for him, and illuminate his grave with His Noor. May Allah SWT reward him with the highest levels of Jannah, and grant Sabr to the family in their time of sorrow. Aameen (آمین).
The family requests prayers (dua) for the deceased.
Salaat ul Janazah will be In shāʾa llāh on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Islamic Center of Maryland after Zuhr Salah at 12:30 P.M.

Note: Late Mustafa Hashmi had served The Aligarh Alumni Association, Washington, DC in different capacities including its President in the late 90s. Mustafa Hashmi (popularly known as Maddan) was also a younger brother of Late Syed Ale Hashmi, a founder member whose entire family was actively involved in the association.
