Job description
As a Data Analyst, your primary responsibility is to leverage Microsoft Power BI / MS Excel / Sales Force to analyze data, providing valuable insights to the Product Support organization. The Data Analyst should possess a combination of technical skills, business acumen, and analytical abilities to effectively use the tools and drive data insights that support informed decision-making within the function. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders within Product Support and cross functional teams across the RealPage organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Data Analysis: Collect, clean, and preprocess data from various sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy for analysis.
• Dashboard Creation: Develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Power BI to present data in a meaningful and easy-to-understand manner.
• Data Visualization: Utilize Power BI's visualization tools to create charts, graphs, maps, and other visual representations to convey data insights effectively.
• Report Generation: Design and generate standard and ad-hoc reports for different stakeholders within the organization, addressing their specific requirements.
• Data Modeling: Design and implement data models to structure and optimize the data for efficient analysis and reporting within Power BI.
• Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI, ensuring that data from different systems can be combined and analyzed together.
• Data Interpretation: Analyze data trends, patterns, and outliers to derive valuable business insights and support data-driven decision-making.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and implement performance improvements for Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure faster loading times and better user experience.
• Automation: Automate data refreshes and report generation processes to keep data up-to-date and reduce manual effort.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders and data teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to help them understand and effectively use Power BI to access and analyze data.
• Data Security: Ensure data security and access controls within Power BI to protect sensitive information.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to data sources, data transformations, and report performance.
• Stay Updated: Keep up to date with the latest Power BI features, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of data analysis and reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related discipline or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a data analysis and visualization role
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Power BI, or similar applications (MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc.).
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization techniques
• Strong ability to leverage data in driving actionable insight and evaluating impact.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, or similar applications. This includes expertise in creating dashboards, reports, data models, and managing data connections.
• Familiarity with data manipulation and querying languages such as SQL
• Experience with integrating data from multiple sources into Microsoft Power BI, or similar applications (MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc.), including databases, Excel files, cloud-based services, and other data platforms.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts and the ability to design efficient and optimized data models within Microsoft Power BI, or similar applications (MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for identifying data-related issues, troubleshooting, and providing actionable insights.
• Effective communication to work with business stakeholders, data teams, and other departments to understand requirements and present findings.
• The ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with other data tools and technologies, such as Excel, data visualization tools, and data warehousing concepts, can be beneficial.
• Exceptional attention to detail, documentation, and follow-up capabilities
• Physically able to participate virtually or in-person training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed (may be required at times)
