Just 22.2 seconds separate the top three heading into the decisive Wolf Power Stage, with Adrien Fourmaux emerging as a potential dark horse. His choice of super-soft tyres for the Digne-les-Bains - Chaudon-Norante 2 stage has already paid dividends and could prove decisive in the final showdown.
While Sébastien Ogier and Elfyn Evans are locked into using at least two studded tyres due to their mixed setup of four ice tyres and two super-softs, Fourmaux carries four super-softs and two ice tyres, allowing him the option of running a full slick setup.
If the Wolf Power Stage is ice-free by the time they arrive, the Hyundai debutant could well challenge for victory.
