On this day in 1942, the Wannsee Conference took place, where senior Nazi officials coordinated the systematic extermination of Europe’s Jewish population. Led by Reinhard Heydrich, the meeting brought together high-ranking members of the Nazi regime, including Adolf Eichmann, to discuss the “Final Solution.” Their goal was to formalise and streamline the process of mass murder, turning it into a highly organised and bureaucratic operation. Although Jews had already been subjected to widespread violence, pogroms, and mass shootings, the conference marked a significant escalation in the scale and efficiency of the genocide. The meeting focused on logistics, including train routes, and the expansion of extermination camps like Auschwitz. The outcome would lead to the industrialised murder of six million Jews, as well as millions of others, in what remains one of history’s most horrific crimes against humanity. _Get the latest updates from CAA via our WhatsApp channel: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaDa5E2HrDZgD8KtqU1l ☑️_
