We live in an era that celebrates diverse identities and in which we are encouraged to be proud of who we are. But our latest polling reveals that a majority of British Jews feel compelled to hide their Judaism, due to the rise in antisemitism. A striking 58% say that they purposely avoid displaying visible signs of their faith, such as wearing a Star of David or a kippah, when going out, because of anti-Jewish hatred. It is an absolute scandal. Many in the Jewish community are feeling deep fear and discomfort in their daily lives. There is a pressing need for greater safety, understanding and tolerance in our society.
