1. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense to very dense fog conditions during the night and early morning hours in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Chandigarh.

PM Modi will distribute over 65 lakh property cards under the SVAMITVA Scheme to beneficiaries through video conferencing, marking a monumental milestone in country’s rural empowerment and governance journey. The property cards will be distributed in over 50 thousand villages across ten states and two Union Territories.

The Supreme Court of India has denied bail to E Abubacker, the former chairman of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI), in a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). This decision was made on January 17, 2025, after Abubacker challenged a previous ruling from the Delhi High Court that also denied him bail. Abubacker was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) during a crackdown on the PFI in September 2022.

1. The budget session of Parliament will commence on the 31st of this month. President Droupadi Murmu will address the joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on 31st January, and the Union Budget will be presented on 1st February. The first part of the budget session will be held from 31st January to 13th February 2025, while the second leg of the budget session will be held from 10th March to 4th April 2025.

2. Just 24 hours after the attack on popular actor Saif Ali Khan, Mumbai police has taken one person in custody for his alleged involvement in the crime. The police are now questioning the suspect at the Bandra Police Station.
Actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed around 2.00 am on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

This initiative is part of the Integrated Shore-Based Anti-Ship Missile System (ISBASMS) Acquisition Project.
2. The Indian Navy is currently participating in the La Perouse 25 naval exercise, a significant multinational event aimed at enhancing maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region. This exercise, which commenced on January 16 and will run until 24 January involves the Indian Navy's destroyer INS Mumbai alongside eight other nations, including Australia, Canada, the United States, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and Singapore.
3. India is strategically positioning itself in the global defence market by offering the Dornier 228 aircraft to the Malaysian Coast Guard, which includes provisions for technology transfer. This initiative is part of India's broader goal to expand its defence exports and enhance its partnerships with other nations.
4. A total of 12 Indian nationals serving in the Russian Army have lost their lives so far in the conflict, and 16 are still missing. Briefing the media in New Delhi yesterday, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.

All the matches will begin at 07:30 PM. This time, Baroda, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Mumbai will host the T20 tournament.
