1. Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha hold discussion on Motion of Thanks to the President’s address to the joint sitting of Parliament. Leader of Opposition and Congress Leader Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue of unemployment, price rise of commodities and depreciation of India rupee against US dollar.
2. The Government has informed the Lok Sabha that the estimated unemployment rate has decreased from 6 per cent five years ago to 3.2 per cent during the last fiscal.

3. Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that 100 Amrit Bharat, 50 Namo Bharat and 200 Vande Bharat trains both sleepers as well as chair car variants will be manufactured in the next two to three years.

6. Parliament Budget Session Day 3 : Both houses adjourn for the day, Opposition walks out of Rajya Sabha over the Chairman’s decision to deny notices to discuss Maha Kumbh stampede.

8. Himachal Pradesh is gearing up for another round of snowfall and rain, with a fresh western disturbance becoming active from Monday midnight. The Meteorological Department has predicted precipitation on February 4 and 5, along with a yellow alert for cold days, thunderstorms, and lightning in some regions.
9. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said that regular flight operation from Asia’s largest Jewar International Airport in Noida will commence from April this year.
10. The Telangana caste survey was a major poll promise of Congress in Telangana, mainly to extend reservations to BCs in proportion to their population. Telangana Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy revealed that 56.33% of the state’s population belongs to Backward Classes, as per findings of the caste census conducted in November and December 2024.
11. Delhi Metro will begin operations at 4:00 AM on all lines from their terminal stations on polling and counting days of the Delhi Assembly Elections to assist staff deployed for election duty. Trains will run every 30 minutes on all lines until 6:00 AM, after which regular services will be available throughout the day.
The 2025 Delhi Legislative Assembly election for all 70 constituencies is scheduled to be held Tomorrow on 5 February 2025. Results will be declared on 8 February 2025.
12. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will chair a security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi.

Jammu & Kashmir, an ex-serviceman was killed on Monday in a terrorist attack in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Security sources said terrorists attacked the ex-serviceman along with his wife and daughter in the Behibagh area of Kulgam. After the attack, all three were taken to the hospital in a wounded condition, where the ex-serviceman succumbed to critical injuries.

*RAMAYANA* The Legend of Prince Rama to screen at Parliament, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, special invitees will attend it. Movie is directed by Yugo Sako, Ram Mohan and Koichi Sasaki. Movie distribution company Geek Pictures on Sunday said it is set to organise a special screening of the (1993 Japanese-Indian anime film) Ramayana on 15 February.
2. Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is gearing up for another significant cinematic venture. His upcoming film, previously known as Shankara, has been renamed Kesari Chapter 2. 1. The third Indian nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) is set to be inducted this year, The Indian Navy currently operates two SSBNs – INS Arihant and INS Arighat – while the third one INS Aridhaman has been undergoing trials.

Months after an MQ-9B Sea Guardian drone crashed into the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Navy has received a replacement for the high-altitude long-endurance surveillance platform from its US-based manufacturer General Atomics. One of the two MQ-9B drones that the Indian Navy had taken on lease was lost in a 'controlled ditching' at sea following a technical snag in mid-September last year.
3. India’s Defence Ministry recently conducted a pilot study on Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems (LAWS). This study marks the transformative potential of these technologies. It raises critical questions regarding control, accountability, and ethical deployment.
4. The delivery of Apache AH-64E attack helicopters from the United States to the Indian Army has once again missed its deadline, which was set for February 2025. This delay follows a series of setbacks that have pushed back the original timeline significantly.

2. The imposition of customs duties by the US on imports from China, Canada, and Mexico provides huge export opportunities for India to America.
Trump is declaring an economic emergency to put duties of 10 per cent on all imports from China and 25 per cent on imports from Mexico and Canada - America's largest trading partners - except for a 10 per cent rate on Canadian oil.
3. Over 260 individuals from Myanmar have sought refuge in Manipur, India, amid the escalating civil conflict in their home country. This influx of refugees began on 27 January 2025, with many arriving along the Moreh border area.
4. Vice President of India Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar and Chairman of Russia's State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin met to discuss the importance of enhancing parliamentary ties between India and Russia. (a) In final day of weightlifting competitions: Punjab’s Mehak Sharma clinched the gold medal in the women’s 87+ kg category, setting three new national records. She lifted a total of 247 kg, creating a new benchmark.
(b) In the men’s category, the Army’s Lovepreet Singh secured gold with a total lift of 367 kg, while Uttarakhand’s Vivek Pandey claimed the bronze medal.
(c) In shooting competition : Punjab’s Sift Kaur Samra won the gold medal in the 50m three-position event with a score of 461.2 points.
In the men’s 10m pistol event, Karnataka’s Jonathan Anthony bagged the gold medal, while the Army’s Ravinder Singh and Gurpreet Singh secured silver and bronze, respectively.

*The Chauri Chaura* incident took place on 4 February 1922 at Chauri Chaura in the Gorakhpur district of the United Province (modern Uttar Pradesh) in British India, when a large group of protesters participating in the Non-cooperation movement, clashed with police who opened fire. In retaliation the demonstrators attacked and set fire to a police station, killing all of its occupants. The incident led to the death of three civilians and 22 policemen.
