*Thai Poosam - 11.02.2025* Thai Poosam is an auspicious festival dedicated to Lord Murugan, the divine warrior and the embodiment of wisdom, courage, and righteousness. Celebrated with great fervor by Tamil Hindus worldwide, it falls on the Poosam (Pushya) nakshatra in the Tamil month of Thai (January–February). This sacred day marks the divine moment when Goddess Parvati bestowed the powerful Vel (spear) upon her son, Lord Murugan, enabling him to vanquish the demon Surapadman and restore dharma. Beyond its vibrant rituals, Thai Poosam carries a timeless spiritual message: The Vel symbolizes divine wisdom that pierces through ignorance. The festival urges us to cultivate self-discipline, surrender, and unwavering faith. Murugan’s grace empowers devotees to conquer inner struggles and progress on the path of truth and righteousness. At Sri Ramanasramam, Thai Poosam was celebrated with great devotion at the Mother’s Samadhi Shrine. The shrine was adorned with beautiful floral decorations (Alankaram), radiating divine splendor. A special pooja was performed for Lord Subrahmanya, invoking His blessings for spiritual growth and inner strength. Devotees gathered in deep reverence, chanting hymns in praise of the Lord, filling the Ashram with an atmosphere of sacred energy and devotion. The fragrance of flowers and incense mingled with the divine vibrations of bhajans, creating an ambiance of profound peace and sanctity.
