🌺 *The Sacred Aradhana of Swami Niranjananda* 🌺 *12-02-2025*
Under the sacred shade of Arunachala, the Aradhana of Swami Niranjananda—the first Sarvadhikari of the Ashram—was observed today, February 12, 2025, at his Samadhi within the Ashram’s serene precincts. A grand pandal was erected, casting its solemn yet festive embrace over the sacred space, while the lingam stood resplendent, adorned with fragrant blossoms. The air resonated with divine bhajans, and as the sacred arati was offered, an aura of deep devotion pervaded the gathering.
Swami Niranjananda, known as Chinnaswami in his early years, was the third son of Sundaram Iyer and Alagammal, born in 1887, next to Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. In 1918, renouncing worldly ties, he embraced the ochre robes of sannyasa, dedicating his life to the service of Bhagavan, the devotees, and the Ashram. A true Karmayogi, he toiled ceaselessly for the Ashram’s growth, sustaining it with unwavering dedication and selfless sacrifice.
On January 23, 1953, sensing the twilight of his earthly sojourn, Swami Niranjananda called forth his son and successor, Sri T. N. Venkataraman, alongside a few close devotees and Ashram workers. With a heart unburdened and a spirit radiant in its purity, he imparted his final words of wisdom:
"I am departing with a clear conscience and clean hands. Never have I taken even a single pie of the Ashram’s funds for personal gain. Everything here belongs to Bhagavan—guard it with unwavering vigilance. Dedicate yourselves, heart and soul, to the service of the Lord, and in return, He will shower His boundless grace upon you. Be sincere, be truthful—let your hearts echo with unwavering integrity. Honor our ancient and sacred traditions, as I have upheld them all my life."
His legacy, built on the bedrock of truth, devotion, and selfless service, continues to illuminate the path of all who tread the sacred grounds of Sri Ramanasramam.
