🌾 *Stubble Burning & Delhi-NCR Pollution – Key Findings 🌫️*
🔹 Stubble burning contributes only 14% to PM2.5 levels in Delhi-NCR, not the primary cause of pollution
🔹 Despite a 50% drop in stubble burning (2015-2023), Delhi’s air quality remains in the ‘very poor’ to ‘severe’ category
🔹 Major contributors to PM2.5 – Transport (30%), Biomass burning (23%), Road dust (10%), Construction (7%), and Cooking (5-7%)
🔹 PM2.5 levels rise sharply in winter due to stagnant winds & colder temperatures, trapping pollutants
🔹 Strict pollution control measures on transport & construction reduce PM2.5 but levels spike again when lifted
🚜 Conclusion: While stubble burning is a factor, transport & industrial pollution are bigger contributors to Delhi-NCR’s air quality crisis!
