Kwatha village in Tengnoupal district, surrounded by many Kuki villages , stands as an exception in a state torn by ethnic violence between the Kukis, who dominate the hill districts, and the Meiteis, who primarily inhabit the valley. Unlike other areas, not a single Meitei has been displaced from Kwatha, nor has the village witnessed any clashes, making it a rare pocket of peace in Manipur.
*Would a Kuki village surrounded by Meitei villages have been spared in the same way?*
