Crypto market falls 7% on US AI worries The cryptocurrency market might be more volatile than Nasdaq. The Bitcoin market fell 6.5% to $3.38 trillion on Monday, while the Nasdaq100 fell 2.5%. The company DeepSleek's free AI caused this. Expectations of this week's Fed meeting and profit-taking after Trump's crypto measures raised these fears. Bitcoin dropped 6.5% below $98,000 early European trade. After 10 days above the 50-day moving average, the price is challenging it again. If the market fails to rebound and the sell-off continues, $93,000 will be critical support. This is the lower end of the trading range of the previous nine weeks and 61.8% of the advance since early November. Ethereum fell under $3000, its worst since November, and briefly touched the 200-day moving average on Monday. A drop below this level might indicate a bearish trend. SoSoValue reported $1.76 billion in US spot bitcoin ETF inflows last week, up from $1.96 billion the week before, totaling $39.94 billion. The US spot Ethereum-ETF market received $139.3 million last week, down from $212 million the week before. Total net inflows since the ETF's July inception reached $2.80 billion. CryptoQuant said that significant investors had backed bitcoin since Trump's victory. Large bitcoin holdings grew from 16.2 million to 16.4 million, while minor holdings fell from 1.75 million to 1.69 million. Experienced investors resisted selling amid extreme volatility. SAB 121, which forbade banks from storing cryptocurrency, was repealed by the US SEC. This was Commissioner Hester Pearce's first effort as Digital Asset Task Force leader. On behalf of BlackRock, Nasdaq has filed to enable in-kind redemptions in the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). Riot Platforms vice president of research Pierre Rochard claimed Ripple hinders the formation of a strategic cryptocurrency reserve in the US. The TON network established 36.2 million bitcoin wallets in 2024, 55 times more than in 2023. Toncoin holdings topped 100 million.
