Key highlights from the budget: โžค GSDP growth rate of Bengal stands at 6.8% in 2024-25, outpacing the national average of 6.37%. โžค Industrial sector grew by 7.3%, outpacing the national average of 6.20%. โžค Services sector grew by 7.8%, outpacing the national average of 7.20%. โžค Agriculture and allied sectors grew by 4.2%, outpacing the national average of 3.8%. โžค Unemployment rate in Bengal stood at 4.14%, lower than the national average of 7.93%. โžค Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees increased by 4%. โžค โ‚น38,762 crore allocated to the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department. โžค โ‚น1,500 crore allocated for the expansion and improvement of road infrastructure. โžค โ‚น21,355 crore allocated to the health sector. โžค โ‚น41,153 crore allocated for school education while โ‚น6,593 crore allocated for higher education.
