𝗪𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗕𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗟 𝗕𝗨𝗗𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: West Bengal Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya presented a ₹3.89 lakh crore budget for FY26. Key highlights from the budget: ➤ GSDP growth rate of Bengal stands at 6.8% in 2024-25, outpacing the national average of 6.37%. ➤ Industrial sector grew by 7.3%, outpacing the national average of 6.20%. ➤ Services sector grew by 7.8%, outpacing the national average of 7.20%. ➤ Agriculture and allied sectors grew by 4.2%, outpacing the national average of 3.8%. ➤ Unemployment rate in Bengal stood at 4.14%, lower than the national average of 7.93%. ➤ Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees increased by 4%. ➤ ₹38,762 crore allocated to the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department. ➤ ₹1,500 crore allocated for the expansion and improvement of road infrastructure. ➤ ₹21,355 crore allocated to the health sector. ➤ ₹41,153 crore allocated for school education while ₹6,593 crore allocated for higher education.
