Economic Survey 2024-25 highlighted persistent credit-deposit mismatch, now stretching beyond 41 months, due to merger of a bank with non-bank. Another concerning segment is the building up of 51.9 per cent of new NPA in the unsecured credit. It further said that while the sector remains stable and well capitalised, the overall moderation in credit growth is due to high base and regulatory tightening in sectors where high growth was observed.
