Office of the *KUKI STUDENTS' ORGANISATION DELHI & NCR* _*Motto: Learn, Unite, Serve*_ *PRESS RELEASE* Date: 1st February 2025 The *Kuki Students' Organisation Delhi & NCR* (KSOD&NCR) strongly condemns the reprehensible actions of the Manipur State Government under Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, particularly the attempts to intimidate and arrest *Pu H.S. Benjamin Mate*, *Chairman of the Kuki Organization for Human Rights Trust (KOHUR)*. This blatant misuse of power by *the Superintendent of Police of the Cyber Crime Police and the Officer-in-charge of Tengnoupal Police Station*, who initiated an intrusive search, is aimed at silencing a courageous voice seeking justice for the Kuki community. It is a grave affront to democracy, human rights, and the rule of law. *Pu Benjamin Mate* has always been at the forefront of advocacy for justice and exposing the irregularities linked to the *leaked audio clips involving CM N. Biren Singh*. Instead of addressing the credibility of the evidence and cooperating with independent investigative processes, the Manipur Government has resorted to targeting the petitioner, obstructing the pursuit of justice. If the Maniput State Government is confident in its stance, it should welcome an impartial investigation rather than vehemently opposing appeals for third-party scrutiny of the audio evidence by credible institutions like Truth Labs. The unwillingness to engage in an unbiased investigation raises serious doubts about its intentions and transparency. The *KSOD&NCR* stands in solidarity with *Pu H.S. Benjamin Mate* and unequivocally condemns any attempt to criminalize his efforts to protect the rights and dignity of the Kuki-Zo people. We further demand that no harm should come upon his family as a result of his advocacy. We call upon the *Hon'ble Supreme Court of India* to take cognizance of this harassment and ensure that justice prevails. Silencing advocates of truth and justice is a direct attack on the very fabric of our democracy.
