One frequently asked question *Why foot rot is less common in goats* ? Why it is more in sheep ? Though goats suffer with *footscald* ( which is predisposing factor for *footrot*) , they *suffer less with footrot* because of less / *no chance of accumulation of mud in between interdigital area* as the *gap between two tips of sole is high*. Sole is kidney shaped ( Pic ) If there is no accumulation of mud ( which contains *D.nododus bacteria*) in interdigital area # there is *no footrot* *even if it is suffering with footscald* ................................................... In sheep @ because of *rectangular shape of sole*, mud accumulation is most common , leading to *Footrot*
