The girl was said to have been taken to Murambinda Growth Point, where she was allegedly raped by multiple men over a period of two weeks. Lisa Gosho, 19, and her mother, Nyaradzai Chitsamba, 38, appeared in court before Rusape regional magistrate, Mr. Francis Mapfumo. They face charges of kidnapping, which involves unlawfully restricting someone's movement. Both were denied bail and are expected to return to court soon. Prosecutor Event Dhliwayo detailed the shocking events in court. According to the report, Gosho lured the girl to her mother’s house under the guise of picking mangoes. Once there, the girl was allegedly held captive for 12 days and forced into prostitution, being taken out at night to meet various men who raped her without protection. It is claimed that Gosho profited from these acts. “The case of the missing child was reported by her guardian on 4 January this year at ZRP Murambinda. Lisa Gosho and the complainant are friends, and Nyaradzai Chitsamba is Gosho’s mother,” Dhliwayo explained. On 3 January, Gosho approached the girl while she was playing with friends, inviting her to collect mangoes. The unsuspecting girl agreed and was taken to a single-room house in Jaru township, where she was locked in. Gosho then allegedly arranged for men to take turns raping her. The following day, the girl was reportedly taken to another area near Murambinda Town Centre, where the abuse continued. Chitsamba allegedly kept the girl locked up, providing only a bucket for a toilet and allowing her out only at night. The situation came to light on 15 January when the girl’s guardian learned she had been seen in Dave’s township and contacted the police. Upon arriving, the police encountered Chitsamba, who denied knowing the girl. However, a search of the house revealed the girl hidden behind a door in the kitchen. The girl was rescued and taken to Murambinda Mission Hospital for medical treatment, where examinations confirmed she had been sexually abused. *MyZim*
