A stampede at #newdelhirailwaystation yesterday night because of an unprecedented number of passengers at the station is learned to have claimed at least 18 lives, including 14 women and 3 children.
Many people were injured in the ensuing panic and mad scramble to either board the trains or rush out of the station.
The #indianrailways announced a Rs 10 lakh compensation for the families of the deceased who lost their lives in the stampede, Rs 2.5 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 1 lakh to the minor injured.
