WHY are clouds white at night?
Clouds are made up of water droplets and ice crystals, which are colorless and only partially scatter light hitting them.
At night, low clouds will look whiter than the sky when there is a lot of city light. In contrast, in a dark area, clouds obscure the faint glow of the night sky and look black.
