The Post-secondary Education Reform Unit (PERU), under the World Bank-funded Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) project, conducted a two-day training program for teachers of public sector colleges titled "Equipping Teachers to Foster Learning Skills in Students."
The training featured sessions on Information Management and Communication, delivered by Dr. Kashif Sohail Malik, and Problem-Solving Skills, conducted by Dr. Arshad Bashir. These sessions aimed to enhance essential teaching and learning competencies among educators.
Prof. Dr. M. Asadullah Madni, Director of QEC, thanked the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for selecting The Islamia University of Bahawalpur as the host institution. He also provided an insightful update on the progress of the Quality Enhancement Cell for Affiliated Colleges (QECACs), highlighting that QEC focal persons have been nominated in all affiliated colleges to promote institutional quality culture and SAR activities are completed in affiliated institutes.
Nominated teachers actively participated in the training and committed to cascading their knowledge by organizing similar sessions for faculty members at their respective colleges.
The Quality Enhancement Cell for Affiliated Colleges (QECACs), a unit of QEC, will follow up on this initiative and extend the same training sessions to teachers of private affiliated colleges, ensuring wider dissemination of these essential skills across the education sector.
