It is the Guru who bestows the Viveka about the Adṛṣṭā-puṇyā that lies beyond what we can see with the eyes, hear with the ears, and experience with Jñānendriyā and Karmēṃdriyā from this materialistic life.
को गुरुः (ko guruḥ)? अधिगततत्त्वः शिष्यहिताय उद्यतः सततम् (adhigatatattvaḥ śiṣyahitāya udyataḥ satatam).
Śaṅkarācārya Bhagavatpāda, answering the question, Who is a guru? says 'adhigatatattvaḥ'—He who understands the tattvā, as in the verse we chant, "Tatvam Tatva Videkātma."
śiṣyahitāya—He is always striving for the hitā (welfare) of anyone who is an abhimānī, worshipper, follower, and bhaktā; "udyataḥ satatam" satatam refers to always-sadā sarva kālam; udyataḥ means constantly making an effort. # Kamakoti #jagadguruvacanam
