The Indian Army’s Mechanised Infantry received the President’s Colours from Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.
📍 About President’s Colours Award
âś… Also known as "Rashtrapati ka Nishaan," this is one of the highest honours given to military units, training establishments, or State/Union Territory Police Forces.
âś… Historical Background:
Originates from colonial times when flags symbolized unit identity and command locations.
✅On November 23, 1950, the British Indian Army’s "King’s Colour" was officially retired, marking the introduction of the President’s Colours in the Republic of India.
