🔆 PRESIDENT’S COLOURS AWARD 📍 Context The Indian Army’s Mechanised Infantry received the President’s Colours from Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi. 📍 About President’s Colours Award ✅ Also known as "Rashtrapati ka Nishaan," this is one of the highest honours given to military units, training establishments, or State/Union Territory Police Forces. ✅ Historical Background: Originates from colonial times when flags symbolized unit identity and command locations. ✅On November 23, 1950, the British Indian Army’s "King’s Colour" was officially retired, marking the introduction of the President’s Colours in the Republic of India. ✅ Criteria for Award: Given to units completing 25 years of exemplary service. 📍 About Mechanised Infantry ✅ A specialized combat arm integrating the mobility and firepower of armored vehicles with the agility of infantry troops. ✅ Established: Formed in 1979, it is one of the youngest arms of the Indian Army. #security
