Remember the island-wide outage on Feb 9, 2025? ⭕️ Beyond the economic losses from the 6+ hour outage, the CEB incurred an additional 4 billion LKR (4,000 million) in the following days to supply electricity using diesel power plants due to Norochcholai being out. ⭕ Sri Lanka's 🇱🇰 annual electricity demand is ~16 billion kWh (8 billion kWh/six months).
