*Jaundice # quick tentative diagnosis @ a practical tip*
.....................................................
Whenever jaundice /Icterus is noticed in a *flock* or *during postmortem* ...... check *colour, consistency and smell of faeces*
If *faeces* are
# *Normal* in colour and consistency @ it is *Toxic jaundice* ( Hepatic )
# *Intensely Yellow stained* with normal consistency @ it is *Haemolytic jaundice* ( Prehepatic )
# *Greasy , Clay colored with foul smelling* @ it is *Obstructive* ( Post - Hepatic )
Once the *type of jaundice* is identified # it will be easy to find the *cause* for such *type of jaundice* and to *control it*
.........................................…....
Pl note : *Van den bergh response test* of checking serum Bilirubin is best to detect *type of jaundice*
