Do not be deceived by the apparent simplicity of those teaching in the Maktab. Outwardly, it may seem they are merely surrounded by children, but in reality, they are enveloped by angels. They may earn a meager salary, often below the minimum wage, yet they are amassing unparalleled rewards in the Hereafter. Though they may lack material wealth to invest in this world, they are investing in the future of this Ummah and accumulating treasures for the Hereafter. Every time a child recites Surah al-Fātiḥah, it becomes a Ṣadaqah Jāriyah—a continuous charity—for the teacher. Every good deed that child performs for the rest of their life, that Ustādh receives a share of the reward. Reflect on the magnitude of this legacy. These humble figures, often unnoticed and underappreciated, are shaping the Ummah, one heart at a time. They are laying the foundation of īmān and taqwā in the future leaders of this Ummah. They are the unseen architects of our faith’s preservation. Honor them. Pray for them. Visit them. Even if decades have passed, seek their duʿāʾs. Let them know you still remember and cherish what they taught you. If they have passed on, then make duʿāʾ for their maghfirah and continue their legacy by teaching others.
