OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and his husband, Australian software engineer Oliver Mulherin, have joyfully announced the birth of their first child. Altman shared the heartfelt news on X (formerly Twitter), expressing, "Welcome to the world, little guy!" He noted that their son arrived prematurely and is currently receiving care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), but reassured that the baby is doing well. Altman added, "It's really nice to be in a little bubble taking care of him. I have never felt such love."
The couple, who tied the knot in an intimate beach ceremony in Hawaii in January 2024, have maintained a relatively private relationship. They made a rare public appearance at a White House dinner in 2023.
Sam Altman and Oliver Mulherin haven't publicly shared details about how they had their child but given that they are a same-sex couple, they likely used surrogacy.
