Segregation at source continues to hold immense potential to improve material recovery, boost the recycling sector, create green jobs, and contribute to #environmentalsustainability. Recently, a community awareness session on a pilot initiative for segregation at source was held in Kayole, organized by Nairobi Metropolitan Community Based Network. The session brought together key stakeholders, including landlords, 'nyumba kumi' representatives, resident association chairs, village representatives, community-based organizations (CBOs) and community health volunteers (CHVs). KEPRO Kenya presented on the importance of segregation at source, a key factor in minimizing the volume of waste destined for landfills.
