*Tendai Biti Dismisses Mutsvangwa’s Claims of US Diplomatic Meetings as Falsehood*
Former Finance Minister Tendai Biti has refuted allegations made by ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa, who claimed that Biti held meetings with American diplomats in South Africa to stir controversy over land and title deeds in Zimbabwe to gain the attention of former US President Donald Trump.
Addressing the media at ZANU PF headquarters in Harare on Thursday, Mutsvangwa alleged that Biti had engaged with US embassy officials in South Africa a day prior.
In response, Biti dismissed the accusations as baseless and misleading, accusing ZANU PF of fabricating falsehoods.
He criticized the ruling party for its failures, asserting that its attempt to amend the constitution would not succeed. He also condemned efforts to privatize agricultural land acquired during Zimbabwe’s land reform program, calling them a reversal of past policies.
Biti further argued that the government’s economic strategies had plunged Zimbabwe into hardship, reducing it to an unstable economy where millions struggle in poverty. He claimed that internal corruption and greed within the so-called “Second Republic” were fueling divisions within ZANU PF.
