This week's hero of faith is Moses, and we will be exploring three key lessons from his life.
1. God saves: Moses was born when Pharaoh decreed that all Israelite baby boys be drowned in the Nile (Exodus 1:22). Fearing their growing strength, Pharaoh worried they might turn against Egypt in war. But God had a greater plan. He not only chose Moses to deliver the Israelites but also ensured his survival. Pharaoh’s daughter found and raised him in the palace—ironically, Pharaoh’s greatest fear was growing up under his roof. Like Moses, we can trust God’s protection and guidance, knowing nothing can thwart His plans for our lives.
2. God hears: Under Pharaoh’s oppression, the Israelites suffered greatly, groaning in their slavery and crying out (Exodus 2:23). The Bible doesn’t say they cried out to God—just that they cried. Yet God heard, saw, and remembered them (Exodus 2:24). When He sent Moses to perform wonders, He left no doubt that He had not ignored their pain. Their response? They worshipped (Exodus 4:31). Have you ever felt unseen or unheard? Rest in knowing that the One who matters most sees, hears, and knows you. May we bow in worship, trusting His wisdom, power, and love.
3. God uses ordinary people like us: When God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, Moses made excuses—fearing they wouldn’t listen, believe him, or that he wasn’t a good speaker. He even begged God to send someone else (Exodus 4:13). Yet God reassured him and sent Aaron to help. Do you ever feel unusable, like "a nobody"? Like Moses, despite our flaws, God can use us for His purposes. In our weakness, His strength shines. He chooses ordinary people to reveal His power to the world – demonstrating that He alone is mighty.
