FEMD PRESS RELEASE : Early Warning; FEMA MD appeal to residents residing along the water channel to relocate. The North Central States of Kogi, Benue, Niger and the FCT are expected to experience sunny skies today with slim chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours. A forecast by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NIMET, anticipate isolated thunderstorms over parts of Benue and Kogi State tomorrow. Meanwhile, NIMET has cautioned that the onset rainfall is usually characterized with violent and destructive winds. In a statement the AG Director General of FCT Emergency Management Department FEMD Engr. Abdulraman Mohammed has appealed to residents to heed to the early warning and take necessary precautions. Engr. Abdulraman urged resident residing along the water channel to relocate before the onset of the rain, he also called for the clearing of blocked drainage systems to ensure free flow of water.
