The government has approved the deployment of military and Rangers troops to ensure security during the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. The decision, made by the federal cabinet, comes following a request from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the provincial governments of Punjab and Sindh. Army personnel will be deployed under Article 245. The Ministry of Interior will soon issue a formal notification regarding the security measures. A three-tiered security plan involving police, Rangers, and Army troops will be implemented to safeguard the event.
