Kariba water levels are rising, giving some hope for power generation.
The levels are creeping up, although still lower than where they were this time last year. The water available for power generation is now 6.1%. This time last year, it was 16.3%.
The drought has seen water levels falling in the lake. This has forced both Zimbabwe and Zambia to significantly cut power generation, leading to long power cuts in both countries.
