Burkina Faso 🇧🇫has introduced its first locally manufactured electric vehicles, the SAHEL and NATIVE, developed by ITAOUA, a firm specializing in sustainable mobility. Designed for eco-friendly transport, the vehicles offer a 330-kilometer (205-mile) range with a 30-minute rapid charge. ITAOUA aims to scale production and lower costs for wider adoption, while policymakers see this as a key step toward reducing fossil fuel dependence and building a homegrown EV industry.
