💥 *Revocation of Appointments: The Case of the Education Sector* ✍️ ♀️The presidential decree concerning the annulment of appointments for teachers either engaged post-December 7 election or prior, but absent from the government payroll, has sparked intriguing debates among alleged victims and those who empathize with the emotional repercussions of this mandate. ♀️In the realm of education, the individuals impacted comprise either recruits from the Colleges of Education or the November inductees, labeled as Limited Recruitment Teachers, appointed to various Senior High Schools nationwide. 👇 *College of Education Recruits* ✍️ ♀️For the recruits from the Colleges of Education, the government secured financial clearance for qualified graduates who, by virtue of their credentials, successfully passed their licensure examination. However, those who failed to pass yet were subsequently recruited experienced delays in salary processing and this delay also affected some graduates who successfully passed their licensure examination. 👇 *Limited Recruitment Teachers* ✍️ ♀️The Limited Recruitment Teachers were those appointed in the waning moments of the previous administration, many of whom remained in limbo probably due to the lack of financial clearance at the time of advertisement, resulting in only a handful being recruited. ♀️These teachers also faced delays in the processing of their documentation. 💥 *The Revocation Effect* ✍️ As of today, no graduate teacher from the Colleges of Education has been affected by the President's directive. ♀️Regarding the Limited Recruitment, there exists a potential for teachers to be impacted if the financial clearance did not favor them or if they secured their positions through unofficial channels. ♀️Such teachers are encouraged to visit their District/Municipal/Metropolitan education offices with documentation pertaining to their employment. Those unable to verify their recruitment through legitimate means are also advised to reapply for consideration. 🙏 *In Summary* ✍️ ♀️The government's directive did not impact all teachers in pre-tertiary institutions, save for a select few who were hired during the last-minute recruitment phase. These teachers are permitted to visit their respective education offices to justify their recruitment. If their hiring is found not to be legitimate, they will be granted the opportunity to reapply. *Ellis Ferdinand | Education Blogger| Curriculum Specialist| Researcher| February 22,2025| Accra, Ghana*
