*Understand Your Purpose*
_By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_
*Day 33 (02/02/2025)*
> _*Proverbs 19:21 (AMP) "Many plans are in a man's mind, but it is the Lord's purpose for him that will stand."*_
The evangelist Maria Woodworth-Etter got born again at age 13 and immediately heard the call of God to go out into the highways and hedges and gather the lost sheep. This was a year after the tragic loss of her father, an incident which truncated her education. Later, Maria chose to marry P. H. Woodworth, a nominally religious person who, over the years, hindered her call into ministry. Though he fathered her six children, five tragically died young.
The turning point in her life came when, out of the misfortunes and in pursuit of her purpose, she searched the scriptures for guidance and found Joel’s prophecy that the spirit would be poured out on both men and women. Through prayer, she received the anointing and a ministry of signs and wonders that echoed what was written in the Acts of the Apostles. This gift gave her the recognition as the ‘Mother of Pentecost’. Here are three reasons why you must pursue God's purpose for your life:
1. *God's purpose for you is specific.*
God calls His children to a specific purpose in His grand scheme of things, and these purposes can only be revealed and not conjectured. He asked Moses to make an earthly copy of the Ark of the Covenant. God revealed to him the purpose of Bezalel in that scheme when He said, "And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship." (Exodus 31:3-5, NKJV)
2. *Nothing is more important than His purpose.*
Matthew 16:21 (NKJV) "From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day."
Though Jesus preached and taught about the kingdom, trained disciples, healed the sick and walked in miracles, signs and wonders, failing to go to the cross would have been disastrous since that was God's climaxing purpose for His life. No wonder He rebuked Peter when he suggested otherwise.
3. *His purpose brings fulfilment.*
Since Apostle Paul was able to walk in God's purpose for His life, he was a fulfilled man when he boldly declared, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that Day..." (2 Timothy 4:7-8, NKJV)
You, too, will find great pleasure at the end of your life when you pursue God's purpose for you.
_Precious one, God's purpose for your life is the most important thing to pursue. Seek God to understand your purpose as best as possible. It will eliminate trials and errors and give you the confidence of direction to move in life, bringing you fulfilment._
*Prayer: *
_Heavenly Father, I submit my spirit, soul and body in humility to You. Reveal to me your specific purpose for my life that I might follow it, in Jesus' name. Amen._
