*Guard Your Love For God* _By Archbishop Charles Agyinasare_ _Day 45 (14/02/2025)_ > *_Matthew 24:12 (NKJV), ”And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”_* From today's reading, Jesus mentioned that there would be an abundance of iniquity, which would cause the love of many for the things of God to grow cold in the end time. As Christians, our love for the things of God will be tested through time, and we must guard our love for the things of God at all times lest it grows cold. We must, therefore, work hard to keep our love for God or rekindle it if it has grown cold in any way. Here are three ways to guard your love for God: 1. *Examine yourself frequently.* As the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves”. We need to frequently evaluate ourselves to know the state of our love for God. 2. *Evaluate your moral system.* The Bible says in Colossians 1:10 (NKJV), “That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;” As Christians, we must live a life based on a moral system that honours the Lord, and you will always please him but a decaying moral system would lead to inevitable cold love. If our view of sin has diminished and our fear for the Lord is gone, then you probably fall in the category whose love has grown cold. 3. *Keep good company.* The company you keep would make or unmake you (1 Corinthians 15:33). A sinful company would sear your conscience and cause you to tolerate ungodliness. In the same way, when you keep company with those on fire for God, they help you to also be on fire. _Precious one, examine yourself, watch out for your moral system and the company you keep if you want to rekindle your love for God._ *Prayer:* _Heavenly Father, flush out everything that is draining my love for you and rekindle my love for You, in Jesus’ name.
