                            GOD IS LOVE
"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." – 1 John 4:7-8 (NIV)
Love is not merely an attribute of God - it is His very nature. John’s words remind us that true love originates from God and is the defining mark of those who belong to Him. To know God is to experience His love and to express that love toward others.
God’s love is not conditional or transactional; it is sacrificial and redemptive. This was fully revealed in Christ, who laid down His life for us (1 John 4:9-10). In a world where love is often distorted by selfishness and sin, the love of God remains pure, selfless, and unwavering.
The evidence of knowing God is seen in how we love others. If we claim to belong to Him yet lack love, we contradict the very essence of who He is. Jesus Himself taught that love is the greatest commandment - love for God and love for others (Matthew 22:37-39).
Loving others is not always easy. It requires humility, patience, and grace. But when we abide in God, His love flows through us, enabling us to love even when it is difficult. The Holy Spirit empowers us to reflect Christ’s love in our relationships, our communities, and even toward our enemies (Luke 6:27-28).
Ultimately, God’s love is our greatest security. Nothing can separate us from it (Romans 8:38-39). When we truly grasp the depth of His love, we are transformed - not just to receive love but to become vessels of His love to the world.
Meditate! If God is love, how am I reflecting His love in my daily life?
Pray! Lord, fill my heart with Your love. Teach me to love selflessly, sacrificially, and sincerely. Let my life be a reflection of Your love in a world that desperately needs it. Amen.
Act! Show intentional love to someone today - whether through encouragement, forgiveness, or an act of kindness. Let God’s love be seen in you.
Read! 1 John 4:7-21, John 15:12-13, Romans 5:8, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.
God’s love is limitless and unchanging. No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, His love remains. Let it heal, transform, and empower you to live with confidence, knowing that in Christ, you are fully known and unconditionally loved.
