February 8, 2025 Empowered by the Holy Spirit! 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." Today's scripture reminds us that as followers of Christ, we have been given a powerful gift - the Holy Spirit. And this Spirit does not make us timid or fearful, but rather gives us power, love, and a sound mind. The word "fear" in this verse refers to a spirit of cowardice or timidity. But the Spirit of God gives us courage, not fear. He gives us the power to overcome obstacles, to stand up for what is right, and to share the Gospel with boldness. The three gifts mentioned in this verse - power, love, and a sound mind - are essential for living a courageous life. Power gives us the ability to overcome challenges, love gives us the motivation to serve others, and a sound mind gives us the clarity and focus to make wise decisions.
