February 19th, 2025 _A Heart That Seeks God_ Psalm 24:4-5 "The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior." In these verses, King David describes the kind of person who can ascend to the hill of the Lord and stand in His holy place. It's not someone with a perfect track record or a spotless reputation. Rather, it's someone with a heart that seeks God. David highlights two essential qualities of this person: 1. *Clean hands*: This refers to a life of integrity, where one's actions align with their faith. It's about living a life of obedience to God's commands. 2. *Pure heart*: This refers to a heart that is free from idols and false motivations. It's a heart that is single-mindedly focused on seeking God. When we cultivate clean hands and a pure heart, we can expect to receive two things from God: 1. *Blessing*: God's favor and goodness will be poured out on our lives. 2. *Vindication*: God will justify and defend us, upholding our cause when we are wronged. As we seek to follow God, let's ask ourselves: - Are my hands clean, or are there areas of my life where I need to repent and obey God? - Is my heart pure, or are there idols or false motivations that need to be removed? _Prayer:_ Dear Heavenly Father, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.
