🇧🇷 *President Lula da Silva announced on national television that starting this Tuesday, February 25, students who have passed the year or finished high school will receive a payment of R$1,000/US$174, equivalent to 2/3 of a minimum wage.* 🔹He also announced that students who attend school will receive a monthly payment of R$200/US$35 and if they take the secondary school entrance exam to get into college they will earn the same additional amount. The total received by students can reach R$9,200/US$1,600. 🔹The announcement makes the Pe de Meia program a reality, which encourages students to stay in school and complete their studies.
