I am committed to improving the conditions of rice farming to better serve Mwea rice farmers at the Mwea Irrigation Scheme. The team from the National Irrigation Board is currently carrying out spot improvements on roads within the scheme, funded through the Operations and Maintenance levy paid by rice farmers. This crucial exercise, last conducted in 2015, will now be done regularly to ensure that farmers have access to well-maintained roads within the rice farms.
